The Awarding Authority commissioned a new Energy Recovery Facility (ERF) in 2011 which incinerates the Islands commercial and household waste. The facility has two separate furnace / steam boilers each with its own dedicated flue gas exhaust ducting. The facility was built adjacent to the Jersey electricity Company (JEC) which has an existing chimney stack.
