Legio blocks are extremely large and heavy concrete blocks used to build ‘bays’ in the transfer stations to store waste before it is sent off to processors. These ‘bays’ protect the walls of the Waste Transfer Stations (WTS) from damage by vehicles, along with allowing for the segregation of waste streams. There are currently 2 types of legio blocks in the Stations; ‘Full blocks’ weighing 1.76 Tonne with measurements of 1.2m x 0.8m and; ‘Half blocks’ measuring 1.2m x 0.4m. ...
